In a significant blow to insurgency efforts, top Naxal commander Madvi Hidma was killed in an encounter with security forces in Andhra Pradesh's Alluri Sitaramaraju district. His wife and four others were also neutralised, marking a pivotal moment in the state's ongoing battle against Maoist activities.
Andhra Pradesh police, in collaboration with various wings, conducted a joint operation following intelligence of increased Maoist movement along the border regions. The encounter, taking place early Tuesday morning, led to the thorough combing of the area and seizure of weapons and other materials.
Chhattisgarh Police described Hidma's death as the 'last nail in the coffin' of Maoist insurgency. Known for masterminding several attacks, Hidma led the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army's Battalion No.1 and was a significant figure in Maoist operations across multiple states.
