The Allahabad High Court has dismissed a plea seeking to halt alleged illegal construction at the historic Ram Janki temple in Shankargarh, on grounds of commercial misuse.
Chief Justice Arun Bhansali and Justice Kshitij Shailendra ruled that the court could not interfere in issues involving private or non-government property.
The temple, situated in Sadar Bazar, is approximately 200 years old, resting on private land owned by Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh. The petitioner, Ghanshyam Prasad Kesarwani, sought legal action against Singh but was advised to pursue appropriate legal channels independently.
