Warder Caught Smuggling Cigarettes and Narcotics into Bengaluru Prison
A Bengaluru Central Prison warder was arrested for trying to smuggle cigarettes and narcotics into the facility. Rahul Patil was caught at the entrance after a metal detector alerted security staff. He was suspended immediately, and a police case has been registered against him.

A warder at Bengaluru Central Prison has been arrested for allegedly attempting to smuggle contraband items, including cigarettes and a narcotic substance, inside the jail. The substances were reportedly concealed in his undergarments.
The warder, identified as Rahul Patil, was apprehended on Friday evening while passing through the main entrance of the high-security facility. Personnel from the Karnataka State Industrial Security Force became suspicious during routine frisking when the door-frame metal detector triggered several alarms.
Upon further inspection, authorities discovered two cigarette packets and a quantity of a narcotic substance. Prison Superintendent Paramesh immediately filed a complaint with the police, resulting in Patil's suspension. The Parappana Agrahara police have formally registered a case, and an investigation is underway.
