India Strengthens Border Infrastructure with 125 New Projects

Built across seven states and two Union Territories, these projects include roads, bridges, and tunnels aimed at bolstering India's border infrastructure. The initiatives enhance military mobility, boost local economies, and strengthen governance in remote areas.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated 125 new projects constructed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in Leh, underlining the government's commitment to enhancing India's border infrastructure.
Valued at Rs 5,000 crore, these projects span across the Union Territories of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir, and seven states, including Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, and Rajasthan. This infrastructure endeavor marks the largest single-day and highest-value inauguration in BRO's history.
Singh commended the BRO for timely project completion and technological innovation, aligning with self-reliant India. He stressed that improved infrastructure enhances military readiness, boosts local economies, and strengthens disaster response, thereby fortifying national security.
