In a significant development, Saharanpur police have apprehended two individuals for allegedly forging signatures on electoral documents. The case emerged during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, a local official confirmed on Monday.

Chilkana SHO Vinod Kumar revealed that the incident occurred in Choura Kala village, part of the Nakur assembly constituency. An investigation initiated by Block Education Officer Sanjay Dabral on November 30 uncovered irregularities during form verifications, sparking concern.

Census forms, purportedly signed by the electors, were found forged; notably, the form of an elector named Samoon. His brother, Akram, informed officials that Samoon had been working in Saudi Arabia for years, making the submission of his form suspicious. A subsequent inquiry led to the arrest of Akram and Amjad, both linked to the fraud, several days after a complaint was filed.
