As the clock ticks down in West Bengal, booth-level officers (BLOs) are in the midst of a final push to ensure the accuracy of the state's electoral rolls. The Special Intensive Revision process is drawing to a close, with officers scouring localities to identify misplaced or deceased voters.
Having distributed over 7.66 crore enumeration forms, BLOs are striving to locate absentees and verify documents for the elderly. This comes as part of an effort to wrap up the submission of forms, as per the Election Commission's directives.
With just two days remaining before the deadline, Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Agarwal expressed confidence that both the enumeration form distribution and digitization process will be completed in time. The updated draft electoral rolls are scheduled for release on December 16.
