Six police officers were suspended in Madhya Pradesh's Mandsaur district for not adhering to proper procedures during the investigation of an alleged opium smuggling case involving an 18-year-old suspect, an official confirmed on Tuesday.
Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar Meena announced the suspension of personnel from Malhargarh police station, initiating a departmental inquiry into procedural violations in the case.
The suspect, who disputes the charges, has taken the matter to the Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, which has reserved its ruling after hearing arguments from both sides.
