The Metropolitan Police have concluded their assessment concerning former Prince Andrew's alleged actions towards Virginia Giuffre, a significant figure in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. Despite previous reports suggesting Andrew may have asked a protection officer to investigate Giuffre in 2011, police say no further evidence of misconduct has emerged.
The scrutiny came into the spotlight after the Mail on Sunday alleged that Andrew sought information from his personal-protection officer about Giuffre. London's police had been "actively looking" into these claims, but now confirm the absence of additional incriminating evidence.
The royal figure was earlier stripped of his titles by King Charles, a move seen as distancing the British monarchy from Epstein-related controversies. With the investigation drawing no new findings, the police have decided against reopening the case.
