BJP Expands Candidature for Upcoming Assembly Elections

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday unveiled two more candidates for the forthcoming assembly elections, bringing the total nominations to 148. Notably, former MLA Narendra Mehta will vie for the Mira Bhayandar constituency, while Sudhir Parwe is set to contest in the Umred assembly segment.
The assembly elections for 288 seats are scheduled for November 20, with vote counting slated for November 23. The BJP is competing as part of the ruling Mahayuti coalition, alongside the Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). The party has also allocated certain seats to its allies, enhancing its strategic partnerships.
In a related development, Dr. Santuk Marotrao Hambarde has been named the BJP candidate for the Nanded Lok Sabha bypoll. He will face off against Congress's Ravindra Chavan. This bypoll comes after the recent demise of senior Congress leader Vasant Chavan.
