In the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections, BJP candidate Archana Patil Chakurkar has expressed unwavering confidence in securing a victory from the Latur seat. The election takes place on October 20. Chakurkar, related to former Lok Sabha Speaker Shivraj Patil, is challenging the sitting Congress MLA Amit Deshmukh, son of late former Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.
In a conversation with ANI on Tuesday, Chakurkar highlighted her commitment to addressing local issues, showcasing a deep-seated belief in her campaign's success. Radiating optimism, she expressed her gratitude towards her party, describing the BJP as the world's largest democratic party. "The opportunity given by my party reinforces my belief in our forthcoming triumph," she stated.
Notably concerned about Latur's pressing water and waste management challenges, Chakurkar advocates for adopting best practices like those seen in Indore to tackle these issues. Despite Latur being a Congress bastion, BJP aims to make significant inroads by presenting Chakurkar as an accessible leader. The Maharashtra Assembly elections are slated for November 20, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 23. In this heated battle, the opposition MVA alliance, comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP, strive to unseat the incumbent Mahayuti, which includes Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, BJP, and Ajit Pawar's NCP.
