France announced on Wednesday a retaliatory measure to expel Algerian diplomats after Algeria expelled French officials, marking an escalation in diplomatic tensions.

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs described this measure as “strict reciprocity” following Algeria's expulsion of 15 French diplomats earlier this week.
