Kaja Kallas Defends EU's Liberties Against U.S. Provocation
EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas defended the bloc's commitment to freedoms against U.S. criticisms. Pointing to restrictive policies in Russia, Kallas asserted that the EU embodies liberty. Despite U.S. provocations following a fine on social platform X, she reaffirmed the strong alliance with America.
In a firm defense of the European Union's commitment to liberty, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas addressed criticisms from a White House strategy document on Tuesday.
Speaking before a European Parliament committee, Kallas redirected criticism of the bloc's policies towards Russia, where she noted that dissent and free media are suppressed. This provocation follows uproar from U.S. officials after EU tech regulators fined social platform X.
Despite these tensions, Kallas emphasized the enduring strength of the EU's alliance with the United States, branding American critiques as provocations. Kallas underlined that the EU stands as a bastion of freedom in contrast to Russia's restrictive measures.
