In a dramatic turn of events, Rajasthan Congress leaders accused the ruling BJP of trying to manipulate voter rolls under the special intensive revision process. They claim that the BJP aims to disenfranchise Congress supporters by cutting their names from electoral rolls while adding fake voters sympathetic to BJP ideals.
Congress officials, including PCC President Govind Singh Dotasra and Leader of the Opposition Tikaram Juli, have urged party workers to be vigilant against this alleged voter fraud. They revealed that data from the chief minister's residence was distributed across constituencies to facilitate this manipulation.
The Congress warns that the current situation threatens democracy, with 42 lakh names already cut from the draft electoral roll. Objections and claims are open until January 15, with final verification set to conclude by February 7.
