As the counting of votes for the 227 wards of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) continues, Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC has expressed strong confidence in the Mahayuti alliance securing victory in the Maharashtra civic body elections. Exit polls suggest a win for the BJP-Shiv Sena coalition, with the Thackeray brothers trailing and Congress and its allies failing to make a significant impact.
Shaina described the exit polls as a mere 'trailer' of what is to come, praising the progress achieved under the ruling alliance. She emphasized the public's decision was based on developmental work and efforts by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. "The exit polls are just a preview; the results will be clear in a couple of hours," she stated, confident about the alliance's success across 29 Municipal Corporations.
In response to allegations from Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray regarding electoral malpractices, Shaina disputed these recurring claims. She challenged Thackeray to reconsider his accusations, asserting, "Uddhav Thackeray should change his scriptwriter and find another explanation." She also highlighted Eknath Shinde's initiatives, ranging from infrastructure improvements to anticorruption measures, and criticized Shiv Sena (UBT) for its lack of developmental action over decades.
