TVK Demands Heightened Security for Tamil Nadu Election 2026 Counting

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) General Secretary of Campaign Management, Aadhav Arjuna, has called for heightened security measures for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2026 ballot counting. On Saturday, Arjuna submitted a request to Tamil Nadu Chief Election Officer Archana Patnaik, advocating for additional police protection and the establishment of 'sterile zones' around all counting centers to prevent any disturbances.

Arjuna brought attention to concerns over potential violence on counting day, underscoring previous aggressive acts aimed at TVK's infrastructure. 'We have witnessed alarming attempts by antisocial elements to incite disorder by damaging our party office in the Srirangam constituency,' Arjuna stated, referencing the arson that was widely covered by media.

Anticipating further disruption, Arjuna called for preventive actions, including the deployment of armed personnel and restricted public access around the 62 counting centers. 'This is a critical issue demanding immediate attention to protect the democratic process,' he concluded in his letter to the authorities.
