Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri has called on the central government to prioritize infrastructure development, including the construction of airports and railway tracks, to aid the state's economic viability. His plea came during a legislative session addressing regional connectivity concerns.
Addressing questions from BJP MLA Trilok Jamwal about the Bhanupali-Bilaspur railway track, Agnihotri compared the infrastructural advancements made in Bihar and questioned the exclusion of similar projects in Himachal Pradesh. The railway track project, slated for completion by 2027, involves significant financial commitments, with Rs 5000 crore already spent.
Challenges surrounding financial allocations and project delays have been met with assurances of scheduled fund releases. Additionally, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu highlighted the slow progress of the Pinjore-Baddi-Nalagarh National Highway expansion, which affects industrial growth in the region.
