The Swiss duo clinched their win with scores of 21-18 and 21-19, advancing to the semifinals held at the iconic Eiffel Tower Stadium. Meanwhile, the other American women's team, Kristen Nuss and Taryn Kloth, were also ousted in the round of 16 earlier this week.
In other matches, top-seeded David Ahman and Jonatan Hellvig of Sweden triumphed over Brazil's Evandro and Arthur. Additionally, Germany's team secured their spot in the final four, guaranteeing them a medal. Despite Brazil's historical dominance in the sport, their recent loss marks a disappointment, as they now face the possibility of a second consecutive Olympics without a men's medal.
