Nine-year-old chess prodigy Aarit Kapil from Delhi amazed the chess world by nearly defeating the world No. 1 Magnus Carlsen in the 'Early Titled Tuesday' online tournament.
Despite matching Carlsen move for move and having him in a losing position, Aarit drew the game as time ran out.
Currently playing in the under-10 World Championship in Georgia, Aarit aims for a podium finish, having already won his first two rounds. Meanwhile, India's V Pranav claimed the 'Early Titled Tuesday' title with 10 points, while American Grandmaster Hans Moke Niemann secured second place on a tiebreak.
