India asserted its supremacy at the inaugural World Yogasana Championships 2026, hosted at the Eka Arena, by winning five of the six gold medals in contention. The event marked the largest global platform for the sport, showcasing India's prowess.

West Bengal's Abhay Burman led the charge for India, clinching the first gold in the Senior Male category with a score of 63.42 points, significantly ahead of his competitors. Following his historic win, Burman expressed his pride and credited the passionate home crowd for his confidence and performance.

In the Senior Female category, Ritu Mondal mirrored Burman's success, securing another gold for India. Her achievement underscored years of dedication and hard work, starting her training at the age of 12. The event, supported by various governmental bodies, signals Yogasana's potential Olympic future.
