IndiGo Airlines is making strides towards operational stability, with 1,650 flights scheduled on Sunday following significant disruptions. The airline aims to stabilize its network by December 10, as it recovers from the challenges faced over the past week.
The carrier experienced substantial turmoil with hundreds of cancellations and delays, impacting thousands of passengers. The disruptions were largely due to crew shortages following the implementation of new flight duty and rest period norms. These regulations, although court-mandated for all domestic airlines, have been slightly eased for IndiGo by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
In response, IndiGo has been proactive in communicating cancellations and is working diligently to enhance its customer support and operational systems. Refunds and luggage processes are actively being pursued, and customers are advised to verify flight statuses before travel. The airline remains in close coordination with authorities to restore normal operations swiftly.
