Delhi's Employment Exchange in 2024: A Snapshot of Job Seekers

Thousands of educated job seekers, including over 1,400 postgraduates and five PhD holders, flocked to Delhi's labour department employment exchange in 2024, as the city's unemployment rate climbed to 2.1%.
Despite a decrease in overall registrations to 21,000 compared to 43,217 in 2023, the capital saw a surge in arts graduates applying for jobs, with 2,925 candidates, while science graduate applications also rose significantly.
The minimum wage adjustments announced in April 2025 for various categories have highlighted ongoing economic challenges as the region strives to accommodate its skilled workforce.
