Reviving Tradition: Medaram Jatara Set to Rival Kumbh Mela

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced that the Medaram Jatara, known as the world's largest biennial tribal festival, will be organized on a grand scale akin to the Kumbh Mela.
The event, honoring tribal folk goddesses Sammakka and Saralamma, will be held from January 28 to 31 in Mulugu district. In an unprecedented move, the state cabinet convened in Medaram, highlighting the festival's importance.
Reddy linked the event to historical valor, referencing the revolt against the Kakatiya dynasty led by the goddesses. He noted the rapid development in Medaram to prepare for the festivities, underscoring his commitment to enhancing the region.
