In the wake of a botched attempt by Pakistan to launch a large-scale drone strike, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh conducted a high-level security evaluation at South Block, New Delhi, on Friday. This review, aimed at assessing the current security dynamics, followed the thwarted attack on Thursday, underscoring a tense atmosphere between the neighboring countries.

The strategic assembly in the national capital was marked by the presence of top military leadership, including General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff; and chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The meeting, precipitated by Pakistan's retaliatory actions against Operation Sindoor, saw the Armed Forces affirming their commitment to national sovereignty amid recent escalations.

The indigenously developed Akash missile system emerged as a cornerstone in India's defense. Successfully intercepting multiple drone assaults, this medium-range, surface-to-air missile system demonstrated its pivotal role in safeguarding Indian interests. With advanced features and real-time threat processing, it fortified India's defenses at the heart of recent hostilities along the Line of Control.
