The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has detained the 11th suspect, identified as a crucial member of a sprawling illegal arms and ammunition operation spanning multiple states. These illegal consignments, with origins traced back to Bihar, have infiltrated numerous regions in Northern India.

Kamalkant Verma, also known as Uncle Ji, was apprehended in Patna, Bihar. This development marks a significant breakthrough in case number RC-01/2025/NIA/PAT, where he stands accused of illegally sourcing ammunition from gun dealers located in Haryana and other locations. The investigations have uncovered that these armaments were clandestinely transported to Uttar Pradesh before reaching Bihar and further into various parts of the country.

The arrest of Verma follows a series of extensive searches carried out by the NIA across 23 sites in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Haryana. These raids, executed on December 4, not only led to his capture but also resulted in the apprehension of four other individuals—Ravi Ranjan, Shashi Prakash, Vijay Kalra, and Kush Kalra. The operation also uncovered a cache of illegal arms and ammunition. The NIA's efforts reflect a strategic move to dismantle the rampant supply chain of unlawful arms trafficking across North India.
