In a significant boost to India's rail connectivity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated several new train services, including two Amrit Bharat Express trains. These new services promise to ease travel for millions across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, and Jharkhand.

Among the newly launched is the Podanur-Dhanbad Amrit Bharat Express, set to originate from Coimbatore and offering a much-needed direct route to Jharkhand, bypassing multiple connections that previously made the journey lengthy and cumbersome. It particularly serves inter-state migrant workers, bridging Coimbatore's loom towns with the east's coal-rich plateaus.

The development aligns with the Viksit Bharat vision, aiming to integrate smaller cities into the broader national economy. Adding to the new train services are infrastructural upgrades like the inauguration of revamped Amrit Stations in Kerala and the dedication of the electrified Shoranur-Nilambur Railway Line, enhancing efficiency and reducing emissions.
