Dubai [UAE], September 5 (ANI/WAM): The United Arab Emirates chaired the 114th session of the Arab Economic and Social Council (AESC) at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, Egypt. The ministerial meeting, led by Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, aimed to bolster joint Arab cooperation in economic and social spheres. Key discussions revolved around strategies to execute previous executive decisions within the context of current regional and international developments.
Commencing his address at the Council, Bin Touq expressed gratitude to Yousef Alshamali, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply of Jordan, for his dedicated efforts during Jordan's presidency of the prior session. He also extended thanks to the League of Arab States' General Secretariat, particularly Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General, for their exceptional organization of the current session. Bin Touq underlined that AESC serves as a vital Arab platform for dialogue and collaboration to foster new economic and development opportunities, lifting Arab economies towards growth and sustainability.
"The current session of the Council provides a significant platform to elevate development efforts among member states, contributing to the advancement of joint development initiatives and achieving Arab economic and social integration," Bin Touq stated. (ANI/WAM)
