The Pilibhit district administration has compiled a detailed report for the Uttar Pradesh Home Department concerning the harrowing situation of 12 stranded labourers in Kyrgyzstan, as per official statements released on Friday.
District Magistrate Gyanendra Singh revealed that following a directive for factual details from the Home Department, the Superintendent of Police was tasked with a thorough investigation. The compiled data on all 12 individuals has been dispatched to the government, paving the way for their safe return.
Family members have accused local agents of demanding up to Rs 2 lakh for the workers' release, amidst allegations of mistreatment abroad. Despite being sent to Kyrgyzstan on visas with allegedly misleading contracts, the workers find themselves in dire conditions, prompting urgent administrative intervention for repatriation.
