In a significant breakthrough, Punjab Police have uncovered a cross-border arms smuggling ring with strong ties to Pakistan, resulting in one arrest so far. The operation, led by Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, resulted in the recovery of five pistols from the suspect.
Authorities disclosed that early investigations have linked the arrested individual to a larger network involving wanted associate Saifli Singh. The group is believed to have been acting under the directives of a handler based in Pakistan, supplying weapons to criminals and gangsters within Punjab.
An FIR has been formally registered in Amritsar as investigations move forward. The focus is now on uncovering both forward and backward connections to thoroughly dismantle the sprawling network, according to the DGP.
