In a significant development, two individuals hailing from Jammu and Kashmir have been apprehended in Arunachal Pradesh on suspicion of espionage, police disclosed on Thursday.
Identified as Nazir Ahmad Malik and Sabir Ahmed Mir from Kupwara district, the duo was arrested following intelligence inputs indicating their involvement in sharing sensitive military information with Pakistani handlers via Telegram.
Malik, detained in Itanagar's Ganga village, confessed to plans involving explosives and targeting security sites. Meanwhile, Mir allegedly facilitated the entry of Pakistani nationals into India and worked as an arms courier. Both are in judicial custody as investigations continue.
