Haryana has introduced a groundbreaking new policy for the issuance and renewal of Fire Safety Certificates (FSCs), opting for a technology-driven, transparent framework. This initiative replaces the previous procedure with a time-bound mechanism as part of the Haryana Fire and Emergency Services Act, 2022, an official statement confirmed.
The policy features an empanelled agency system alongside an automated online approval process, significantly minimizing procedural delays. Applications for new FSCs, as well as renewals, will be automatically approved through an online portal once a certification report is submitted by an accredited agency. This change is poised to substantially reduce inspection-related hurdles and enhance the predictability of certificate issuance, according to the official announcement.
Driven by a commitment to faster service delivery without compromising safety, Financial Commissioner Sumita Misra stated that the reformed system ensures transparency and impartiality. The online system will randomly select the agency for inspection, while the government maintains oversight through mandatory random physical verifications of select cases. The full rollout of this transformative policy is slated for completion by March 31, 2026.
