The latest data from the Delhi Statistical Hand Book 2025 reveals a noticeable shift in missing persons cases. In 2024, the number of minors reported missing decreased, while the number of adults unaccounted for rose significantly.

Specifically, 5,846 minors were reported missing in 2024, a reduction from 6,284 in 2023. Conversely, the number of missing adults climbed to 19,047, up from 18,197 the previous year. The data includes a detailed gender and age breakdown, highlighting a more significant drop in missing boys compared to girls.

The decrease in missing children cases is linked to improved FIR registration, cooperation with NGOs, and technology use. However, the spike in adult cases is alarming and has led authorities to ramp up efforts to enhance tracking methods and resolve these incidents more efficiently.
