The Gurugram Police, in coordination with the municipal corporation, demolished an eight-story building allegedly run as a paying guest accommodation by drug smuggler Satpal, also known as Kalu, in Kanhai village. This action comes after the property was marked illegal by the Anti-Narcotics Cell due to its ties with drug trafficking.
Satpal, a convicted criminal under the NDPS Act, faces several legal cases and was alleged to have acquired the property through proceeds from his illicit activities. During the demolition, over 50 municipal employees were involved. An argument erupted between officials and Satpal's family, but it did not halt the operation.
Authorities claimed the PG residents were extorted for approximately 7,000 rupees each, further fueling the drug trade. Under the chief minister's directive, a joint team is now executing similar operations. In another related action, police demolished the illegal property of a woman accused of being a drug peddler, who had occupied government land.
