Taiwan Stands Firm Against China's Maritime Jurisdiction Claims

Taiwan's coast guard has taken a firm stance against China's recent maritime activities near its eastern coastline, declaring that attempts to create a false impression of jurisdiction would not be tolerated.

Following the announcement of maritime boundary talks between Japan and the Philippines, China sent vessels for a 'special maritime traffic law-enforcement operation'. The patrol has since ended, with China's state media reporting that nearly 200 vessels were inspected.

In response, Taiwan reaffirmed its sovereignty, vowing to expel any ships asserting foreign jurisdiction. Chinese actions were also deemed as harassment toward passing merchant vessels, further escalating tensions in the region.
