The outfitters are waiting for rainy season in Zambia to end in April so that they can start a killing-spree of 1250 hippopotami at the world-renowned Luangwa Valley.
Over 1250 hippopotami living in Zambia's Luangwa Valley are about to meet their bloody and horrible death at the hands of South African game hunters once rainy season comes to an end. The controversial hunt has reportedly been approved by Department of National Parks and Wildlife, as revealed by Conservation Action Trust.
The cull has already been suspended several times since 2015. Even Zambia's own scientific research advise against it noting that the previous calls have only served to augment the population growth rate.
The adventure firm is currently offering Luangwa hippo packages at R200 000 ($14,105) for 5 hippos per hunter. The cull could generate upward of R45m ($3,175,155) for hunters and the Zambian government. In 2018, Zambian Minister of Tourism and Arts, Charles Banda confirmed that the contract was valid.
