Congress MP Manish Tewari expressed concern over the ongoing political instability in several South Asian countries, including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and the Maldives, during a session in the Lok Sabha.

Bangladesh has recently faced significant unrest, prompting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to resign following massive street protests over job quotas. Tewari highlighted India's unique historical relationship with Bangladesh, dating back to its creation in 1971, and emphasized the gravity of the current situation.

He urged the government to clarify the steps taken to ensure stability in the region, noting China's growing influence and the increasing control of the military over civilian governments in Pakistan. Tewari stressed that instability in South Asia has direct and profound implications for India.
