Addressing a rally in poll-bound Maharashtra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his remarks about the Congress flaunting a 'blank constitution.' Gandhi accused the Prime Minister of not having read the Constitution, which he described as being rich with the thoughts and ideas of thousands of years.
Gandhi emphasized the significance of the Constitution, stating, "This document is not empty; it embodies the visions of leaders like Birsa Munda, Mahatma Gandhi, and Ambedkar. Disrespecting it is disrespecting their legacy." He also criticized the BJP's policies towards tribal communities, contrasting them with Congress's initiatives, like the Land Acquisition Bill.
The Congress leader detailed his party's promises, including a caste census, financial aid to women, and debt relief for farmers. Gandhi criticized the BJP for job displacement from Maharashtra and pledged to protect local projects. The campaigning for Maharashtra's assembly elections is intensifying, with both the ruling Mahayuti and opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi seeking to win over voters.
