European allies of Ukraine remain divided over the deployment of an armed force to support an eventual peace agreement in the country. According to French President Emmanuel Macron, consensus among the allies is not required to move forward.
Macron emphasized that both France and Britain are leading the initiative, despite the lack of unanimity among European allies. He made it clear that the plan would proceed with a deployment contingent formed by willing European nations.
The French President confirmed that a reassurance force, made up of several European countries, would be established to support Ukraine in its peace efforts, even in the absence of full agreement among all allies.
