Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff have developed a notably friendly and constructive rapport during their Kremlin discussions, as described by Putin's foreign policy adviser, Yuri Ushakov. The involvement of Jared Kushner, son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump, introduced a systematic aspect to the negotiations concerning Ukraine.
The Kremlin has reported a growing sense of friendliness and understanding between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff. According to Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov, their discussions on Tuesday, which also included Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law, were marked by a constructive tone.
Yuri Ushakov made these remarks on Russian state television while Putin was visiting India, emphasizing the pleasant atmosphere of the talks. Putin and Witkoff, who have met multiple times, are reported to communicate effectively, despite not everything being explicitly stated.
The meeting focused on plans for a U.S.-supported resolution to the Ukraine conflict, which began with Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022. The talks, lasting five hours, were described by Putin as 'very useful.' Kushner's presence supposedly introduced a methodical approach, with plans anticipated to develop further in written form.
