In a heated exchange, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has criticized Congress and Akali Dal, accusing them of accepting defeat by leveling allegations of high-handedness in the Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections against the AAP government.
AAP's opponents have alleged misuse of power, going as far as claiming the printing of fake ballot papers for the December polls. Charanjit Singh Channi, a Congress leader, accused the government, leading to a strong rebuke from Mann who called the claims 'irresponsible'.
Mann defended the electoral process, citing the large number of unopposed elections among parties and questioning the sincerity of the opposition's grievances. Despite the claims, Mann highlighted government achievements like free electricity and improved infrastructure as reasons for seeking electoral support.
