In a bold move that has sparked nationwide attention, Jharkhand's state government has decided to cancel several competitive examinations following allegations of widespread irregularities. State Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey lauded the decision, describing it as 'historic' and indicative of Jharkhand's resolve to prioritize justice at a time when many feel their voices are being stifled.
The decision, which highlights the administration's commitment to transparency and justice, aims to restore public faith in constitutional bodies. Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced the cancellation during a media briefing, noting that it extends beyond examination annulment to include all associated activities with TSR Data Processing Private Limited (TDPL). In addition, the state has decided to cancel the JSSC-CGL examinations, promising a thorough investigation led by a retired judge into anomalies dating back to 2014.
The decision has been met with jubilation from students and advocates at Jaipal Singh Stadium, who see the move as a win for transparency and accountability. CM Soren acknowledged the revelations emerging from existing investigations, underscoring the need for comprehensive examination reforms to obliterate errors and strengthen existing safeguards against irregularities.
