The Centre's panel on Delhi-NCR air quality reinstated Stage 3 restrictions of the Graded Response Action Plan due to rising pollution levels, the result of adverse meteorological conditions.
The 24-hour average air quality index in Delhi reached 371, with forecasts from the India Meteorological Department predicting further deterioration. The Commission for Air Quality Management has instructed regional authorities to implement Stage 3 measures immediately.
Stage 3 prohibits non-essential construction, mandates hybrid learning for students up to grade V, and restricts the use of certain vehicles. Physical and logistical adjustments to these curbs are crucial for curbing the air quality crisis.
