The Centre's regulatory panel on Monday announced the lifting of Stage 2 pollution curbs in Delhi-NCR, following a significant improvement in air quality attributed to favorable weather conditions.
According to data, Delhi's 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 186, suggesting a shift in the atmospheric conditions that have historically plagued the region with pollution.
Authorities credit the improved air with a better mixing height and ventilation coefficient. Consequently, inter-state buses from NCR states have been given the go-ahead to enter Delhi, reflecting progress in the city's air quality management efforts.
