Exciting New Era: WTGL Attracts Top Golfing Talent
The Women's Tech-Infused Team Golf League (WTGL) has announced new player commitments, including stars like Minjee Lee, Celine Boutier, and Danielle Kang. With 14 players now on board, including global golf elites, the WTGL is set to introduce a forward-thinking approach to women's golf with its inaugural season.
Australian world number seven Minjee Lee is among the LPGA Tour players who have committed to join a new women's tech-infused indoor team golf league, announced on Tuesday. This league, the women's counterpart to the men's version founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, also includes six-times LPGA winner Celine Boutier and Danielle Kang, world number 24 Andrea Lee, Megan Khang, a veteran of the U.S. Solheim Cup team, and three-time Olympian Albane Valenzuela.
With these additions, the WTGL now boasts 14 players, five of whom rank among the world’s top 10. According to Pete Jung, chief marketing officer of TMRW Sports, which collaborated with the LPGA to develop the league, this expansion highlights WTGL's growing reputation as a global platform for LPGA stars and women’s team golf.
The unveiling of the brand, combined with commitments from major champions, Olympians, and Solheim Cup players, marks a significant milestone in WTGL's journey. The league is set for its inaugural season launch later this year at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, generating anticipation amongst players, team ownership groups, and potential partners alike.
