The commerce ministry announced a significant increase in the approval of export obligation discharge certificates (EODCs) for March, totaling 12,690, a stark contrast to the 3,747 approved in February. These certificates are vital for completing export mandates and are essential for freeing bank guarantees and bonds.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade spearheaded a special campaign aimed at the swift issuance of EODCs under the Advance Authorisation and EPCG schemes. This initiative, which ran from March 1 to March 31, 2026, was rigorously overseen through daily meetings led by senior DGFT officials.
The substantial increase not only highlights the ministry's commitment to an exporter-friendly environment but also underlines efforts to streamline export processes and promote ease of doing business in India.
