Tata Power's Assam Initiative: A Green Leap Forward

Tata Power announced a landmark agreement with the Assam government to deliver 5 GW of renewable energy projects. The initiative, featuring an investment of Rs 30,000 crore, aims to harness solar, wind, hydro, and storage energy resources over the next five years.
The state government will facilitate the leasing and acquisition of land for the projects and provide infrastructure to ensure smooth transmission. This partnership also intends to develop Renewable Energy Parks and Group Captive sites, benefiting local industries and tea gardens.
To streamline execution, single-window clearances and financial incentives will be provided. Skill development programs will train the workforce, while another MoU with Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd will enhance solar adoption under the Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, creating 3,000 jobs and boosting Assam’s economic growth.
