The Knesset Finance Committee, on Monday, introduced pivotal adjustments to Israel's 2026 state budget, reflecting dynamic shifts in fiscal allocations across various sectors including defense, housing, and health. These changes come in response to ongoing wartime financial pressures and routine budgetary realignment within the government’s fiscal management framework.

One of the largest financial maneuvers included a substantial transfer of NIS 1.69 billion from multiple governmental departments to the Ministry of Defense, aimed specifically at fortifying wartime needs. This transfer was sanctioned in accordance with governmental directives on defense spending, with a stipulated requirement for comprehensive expenditure reports to be delivered to a specialized committee overseeing defense and foreign affairs.

Additionally, surplus funds were earmarked for housing, with approximately NIS 6.16 billion in unused 2025 funds being rolled over to support residential development in 2026. Furthermore, substantial allocations were made towards healthcare, focusing on mental health services and public health infrastructure, underscoring the state's ongoing commitment to multipronged health service enhancements.
