India's Swift Aid to Cyclone-Stricken Sri Lanka
India responded promptly to Sri Lanka's request for assistance following Cyclone Ditwah, donating 25 tonnes of essential medicines and dry food items. The assistance came as part of Operation Sagar Bandhu, initiated after widespread damage in Sri Lanka. India's efforts were appreciated by Sri Lanka’s Health Minister.

India has once again demonstrated its commitment to regional cooperation by providing crucial aid to Sri Lanka in the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah. The disaster resulted in overwhelming damage, with 644 reported dead and severe infrastructure collapse.
Responding to an urgent appeal, India initiated Operation Sagar Bandhu, delivering essential medicines and food supplies. The Indian consignments, including 17 critical drugs for medical conditions like heart disease and diabetes, were carried by a special Indian Air Force aircraft.
The swift assistance from India was recognized and appreciated by Sri Lanka's Health Minister Nalinda Jayathissa, underscoring the strong bilateral ties between the two nations during times of crisis.
