In a notable reorganization within Maharashtra's police force, more than 50 Indian Police Service officers were transferred on Friday. The Home department's order resulted in multiple reshuffles of key positions across the state.

Among the significant changes, Mumbai Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Lakhmi Gautam was elevated to Special Inspector General of Police (IGP) in Maharashtra. Other transfers included Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Satyanarayan Chaudhary moving to Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), and Anil Kumbhare swapping roles with him.

The reshuffle also saw Joint Commissioner of Police, Economic Offences Wing Nishit Mishra and Joint Commissioner of Police (Administration) Jai Kumar advancing to Special Inspector General of Police (IGP). Numerous seasoned officers, such as Datta Karale, Pravin Padwal, Manoj Sharma, and Suvez Haque, were reappointed, marking a significant transition within the force.
