Election Roll Revision: Over 50 Crore Forms Distributed Across India
The Election Commission has distributed over 50.25 crore enumeration forms to electors in nine states and three Union territories as part of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, which runs from November 4 to December 4. The revision covers 98.54% of the 50.97 crore electors.

The Election Commission has reported significant progress in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of the electoral rolls, with more than 50.25 crore enumeration forms distributed across nine states and three Union territories. This marks an impressive coverage of 98.54% of the 50.97 crore electors.
The second phase of this exercise commenced on November 4 and is scheduled to continue until December 4, focusing on the enumeration stage. States and Union territories involved include Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, as well as Puducherry, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep.
Looking ahead to the 2026 elections, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, and West Bengal are of particular interest. The Election Commission also announced a special electoral roll revision for Assam, where elections are also slated for 2026.
