The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has outlined its schedule for electing the party's next national president. According to details provided by BJP national returning officer K Laxman, nominations are open on January 19, with results set to be announced the following day.
Party members looking to contest the position can file their nominations between 2 pm and 4 pm on January 19, while withdrawal of nominations must happen by 6 pm on the same day. An hour is allocated for scrutinizing nomination documents between 4 pm and 5 pm.
Sources suggest that BJP national working president Nitin Nabin is unlikely to face any opposition from fellow party members, paving the way for him to succeed J P Nadda, with endorsements from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. The election process will be conducted at the party's headquarters.
